WD: Weslee + David

It was such a pleasure to have documented Weslee and David’s engagement sessions which had some unfortunate weather but luckily when the wedding day came it was the best thing we could have hoped for. Documenting in this space was so much fun, there was an exuberant amount of light, unique spaces, and of course some of the interesting taxidermy located throughout. Please check out some of my favorite images.

Photographer: Kevin Liang + Peter Chan

Venue: Explorer’s Club

Wedding Cake: Milk Bar

Also a fun little thing happened, NBC News was doing a story about Weslee’s awesome company Boxed.com and some of my images were shown on the segment, which was totally awesome! I just had to share that =) now onto the images.

Love these compasses as souvenirs at the wedding and seat assignments.

One of my favorite wedding dress shots. Noticed this natural two-toned coloring from the windows so I placed the three rings for Weslee strategically to get this shot. David getting ready.Mom helping Weslee with the final details.
All the ladiesGetting ready for the first look. Can’t help but smile when I see a moment like this.
Ooo that penguin …Portrait success.
Another one from a different view.Framed it as she was rushing down to greet her friends and guest. A NYC moment.Love this gate and the fun they had with it. Two views, same feelings =)Having two perspective is always great during a wedding as it shows two different thoughts on the shot but both coming out equally wonderful.
A touching moment of Weslee’s brother with his son before the ceremony begins. In every shot I think about placing relevant subject/objects in the frame to tell a more complete story. For this walk down the aisle I was lucky I could include David in the frame as you see Weslee smiling away.I knew how important Grandma Beatie was to Weslee and to document moments like this one. I knew I did my job.Their candidness is just breathtaking. Who doesn’t want a photo with this Polar Bear!!!!I just had to place the bouquet here. All smiles and wonderful stories during the speeches.A low-key cake cutting shot…
Turned to some fun, cake feeding.Their amazing first dance, it was such a tight space but luckily with a strobe, and a 14mm lens I made it work. Don’t know what was said but this makes me laugh everytime. Someone got REAL low!!!Love it when guest just have an incredible time.A great end to the night.
