A South African Love Story in the Heart of Brooklyn: Amy & Luke’s NYC Elopement

They say if you can make it in New York, you can make it anywhere, but sometimes, just getting to the altar in New York requires a little bit of magic.

After crossing oceans to say “I do,” the couple hit an unexpected snag: Manhattan’s City Hall was completely booked. For many, this would be a moment of panic. For Amy and Luke, it became the prologue to their perfect story. Determined to give Amy the elopement of her dreams, Luke spent hours refreshing pages and searching; he managed to snag a single, early-morning opening at the Brooklyn Clerk’s Office. With a quick call and a WhatsApp message, I was ready to go! We got to the Brooklyn Clerk’s Office, did all the paperwork and even the international marriage certificate, then off we went to the altar to say, “I Do” and afterwards capture some amazing memories in DUMBO…even found a homage to their South African home, graffiti art of elephants!!!
